The HDMI Authorised Test Centre measurement for High Speed HDMI is taken at 10.2 Gb/s but QED Reference HDMI has been independently tested in our laboratories at a staggering 21.9 Gb/s using a pseudo-random bit pattern test. This gives the cable nearly five times the capacity required for a Full HD or 3D picture providing an enormous amount of headroom!

BAND PASS FILTER TECHNOLOGYTM
Reference HDMI incorporates a built-in passive bandpass filter which must be sited at the TV end - making the cable directional. This filter effectively removes components of the signal above and below the HDMI band pass frequency which can contribute to unwanted timing errors, known as 'jitter'. The filter is also optimised to ensure the signal level does not drop below the predefined amplitude specified by the HDMI governing body. This has the effect of reducing cable induced timing errors, to half that found in a typical branded cable of the same length and specification.

QED has identified cable induced timing error, termed ‘jitter’, as one of the key differentiators between satisfactory and outstanding cables.

Applies to any HDMI cable that has been tested at an authorised test centre and has been found to pass the eye mask test at a combined data rate of 10.2Gb/s 340Mhz pixel clock. The cable must also have passed testing of the CEC and DDC connectivity and be compliant with HDMI Ethernet and Audio Return Channel test procedure.

BAND PASS FILTER™ TECHNOLOGY
Incorporates electronics to apply a passive equalization network designed to improve the High Speed jitter performance of the cable. The signal is filtered to remove unwanted components of the signal above and below the required frequency band. Used to convert a low jitter cordage to an ultra low jitter one.
ULTRA LOW JITTER
Jitter is the undesired deviation from true periodicity of an assumed periodic signal in electronics and telecommunications, often in relation to a reference clock source. A cable displaying ultra low jitter has been measured at typically 30ps.
